How to Renew Your Illinois Plate Sticker
Renewing your Illinois plate sticker is a very basic and simple process. You will require the following:
Registration PIN and Registration ID found in the renewal notice mailed to you
Name of your insurance company, policy number, and the expiration date for the vehicle that the plate sticker is for
Simply start by logging onto the CyberService website. To begin, you will need to input the PIN and ID from your renewal notice. If you haven’t received it then visit the Secretary of State facility and make sure your mailing address is correct.
Note: you can also renew your license plate sticker at the facility in case your plate sticker will expire soon.
After logging in, verify that the information is correct and follow the on-screen instruction to renew your plate sticker. There will be a review page summarizing your choices.
You will have to pay a renewal fee. License plate stickers cost $20. If you also need to replace your plate then it will cost $6 for one plate and $9 for two. Only the following credit cards are accepted for payment: Discover Card, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Diner’s Club. Cash, debit card, and check are not accepted payment methods.
You will get receive a receipt. Print this and wait for your renewed sticker to arrive in the mail. This can take from five to ten business days. To ensure it arrives, make sure that the mailing address is correct. For changes, visit the Secretary of State facility.
